In early May 2018, it was time for re:publica 2018 once again. According to the organisors, re:publica has managed to become “Europe’s biggest conference on topics concerning digitisation and society”. This year, it took place from 2 – 4 May 2018 at the „Station“ in Berlin.
I hosted and ran a session entitled “Fighting minsinformation”. It took place on day 2 of the conference (3 May) and ran from 10 to 11 am. The session included a hands-on verification part, in which participants were asked to solve three verification challenges. This was accompanied by presentations about various aspects of the misinformation ecosystem, also showcasing activities and initiatives in the Media and Information Literacy sector.
The session was a partner event of re:publica and Deutsche Welle’s Global Media Forum. With me on the stage: Julia Bayer, Wilfried Runde and Roslyn Kratochvil-Moore, all working for Deutsche Welle.
